One of our goals is an effort for sustainability. For this purpose, we have built an extensive agricultural project covering 0.5 hectares of land. This land is now planted with 82 fruit trees and shrubs. There have been built over 200 so-called Zai beds which retain more moisture, 2 water reserves, a henhouse with an aviary for hens and rabbits, a house for guards, a water well, and much more. This project primarily aims to acquire and transfer knowledge of growing organic food to the local people. You can contribute, for example, to the purchase of tools, seeds, plants, or manure.
We are trying to speed up the systematic fertilization of the soil in order to pass on the acquired knowledge and practical evidence to the locals as soon as possible. Their way of farming is so simple that in case of bad weather the yield of crops is minimal. In these situations, it is common for the president of Burkina Faso to be forced to declare a famine and ask the United States for food aid.
